5 Tips to Learn a New Language Faster
Learning a new language can feel overwhelming at first, but a few consistent habits make a big difference. Here are five tips our instructors recommend to every new student.
1. Practice a little every day
Short, daily practice beats long, infrequent study sessions. Even 15–20 minutes a day builds momentum.
2. Speak from day one
Don't wait until you feel "ready" to speak. Start forming simple sentences early — mistakes are part of learning.
3. Immerse yourself outside class
Watch shows, listen to music, or follow social media accounts in your target language to build a natural ear for it.
4. Use spaced repetition for vocabulary
Flashcard apps that use spaced repetition help vocabulary stick in long-term memory far more efficiently than rote memorization.
5. Find a conversation partner
Regular conversation practice — with a classmate, tutor, or language exchange partner — is one of the fastest ways to build real fluency.
